Review Books
Here are several good options if you are looking for a way to supplement your studying. They range in prices from about $10.00 new to about $50.00 new (you can always save money buying them used, just read the comments first to see if they include all material). Some of these books include flashcards, online supplements, and diagrams. All of them include reviews of chapter material and practice tests. If you would like more information on any of these books feel free to ask me, read the Amazon reviews, or check them out at a bookstore before purchasing.
I strongly suggest obtaining one of these books!!!
If money is an object please see me individually.
Barron's: Very good and well rated; known for having some of the most difficult practice tests, but is also known for doing an outstanding job preparing students for the difficulty of the test. It is said among some that if you can do the Barron practice tests, you can do the real thing. I have also used the Barron's AP Psychology flashcards and have absolutely loved them! They are very comprehensive and user friendly.
Kaplan: Very user friendly; online support material. Personally, I really like the language and diagnostic tests that come with Kaplan's books. When I was in AP I used a lot of Kaplan's books (that being said, I also used Barron's for some and Spark Notes for others :) ).
Spark Notes: The Spark Notes Power Packs are great! However, these packs are not review books like the other examples. This does include practice tests, but it does not have the little chapters of review material for each subject. What it does include, though, which is unique from the others, is flashcards (I have used these with my AP US History students and they are really helpful), a five day study plan, and different charts on various topics (I haven't seen the psychology charts, but the US History ones are excellent). This is the most expensive pack of the list, and some reviews say it is cheaper at Barnes and Nobel. You might also be able to save some money by purchasing just the charts and not the whole pack if you would like (usually these are available online or at a large bookstore).
The Princeton Review: I do not know much about this company, but their books are very popular and the company is well regarded. I personally do not like their books as much as the three above, but it is very much a matter of preference (each one has a slightly different style of writing).
There are others, but these are the most popular. Let me know if you have any questions!
